5 Pillars of Health Philosophy

Crystal Springs Chiropractic is dedicated to the improvement of the mental and physical health of the members in our community allowing them to fully enjoy wellness and not the absence of symptoms.  We do this by helping identify and remove the chemical, physical, and emotional stresses in their lives, and then giving them the basic tools for realistic physical and nutritional living.  This is accomplished by our team of Chiropractors, Acupuncturist, Massage Therapists, and Hyperbaric Chamber Therapists working as a team with our staff to provided personalized care for our patients.

Hydration:   The human body is over 80% water.  Water is needed as the basis for fluid flow, cellular, muscular, joint and brain function.  The general rule is 8 eight ounce glasses per day.  A person needs more if they experience dry mouth, dry skin, headaches, or if there is odor or color to your urine that is not specifically related to diet.

Nutrition:   The body needs a balance of Proteins, Carbohydrates, and Fats.  It also requires vitamins, minerals, and enzymes.  With a proper balance an intake we work with our bodies.  The quality of our fruits, vegetables, meats, and fish has changed along with our increased intake of processed food.  Our nutritional levels are down, and our Fatty-Acid ratios have inverted.  All children and adults need to take a quality multi-vitamin and Omega 3 fatty acid daily to stay healthy.  Ask us about appropriate nutrition today.

Exercise:   We require a minimum of 20 minutes of brisk cardiovascular exercise daily to maintain proper function.  Whether this be a fast paced walk around the block or a run, it is most important that you keep a brisk pace that reflects you physical condition.  We can set goal appropriate levels for each person.

PMA

A PMA, Positive Mental Attitude is imperative.  All successful people have a common factor of the belief that the outcome was possible.  People who survive or who achieve in sports despite long odds believed it was possible.  You never hear of healthy hypochondriacs, think yourself well.

Adjustments:   90% of the brains neural input is from joint mechanoreceptors.  This means that the forces of gravity, the one truly constant force in our lives, is always acting upon us and it makes us vulnerable.  The majority of the stress and dis-ease we feel is related to the changes in posture to our bodies.  When we lose or normal biomechanics, we directly affect the function of our nervous system.  65-75% of the time your body can correct these changes in biomechanics, called subluxations.  The role of the Chiropractor is to identify the physical, emotional, or chemical stress in the patient’s life to limit the amount of breakdown, and then adjust the levels of the spine and extremities to remove the breakdowns that already exist.
